Pastel Portuguese: dumpling stuffed with shrimp, coconut sauce

A hidden gem located in downtown L.A.’s fashion district. Chef/Owner Natalia Pereira has opened a small store front Mineira (place to go for traditional food from Minas Gerais state of Brazil). Authentic Brazilian home cooking and street food dishes, was blown away by the small plates.
Coxinha – Brazil’s most popular street food (made with chicken)
Kibe – bulgur wheat, mint & ground beef
Pastel Portuguese – dumpling stuffed with shrimp, coconut sauce

Pereira produces a special menu on Saturdays inspired by a different country every week. Did the recommendation of her favorite childhood dish that her mother made from leftovers a Brazilian Chicken Pot Pie, was not disappointed and sorry grandma, your rice pudding is no match. Michelin Guide recommend.
