Croissant French Toast, Maple Syrup, and Sugared Pecans
Had no intention of having breakfast but a good friend from D.C. recommended I try this place before I left, I am glad he did. Directly across from the state capitol house is what is called “a student union for adults”. Lunch is on the menu but breakfast is in order here. Bon Appetite names it “Top Ten Favorite Place for Breakfast in the Nation”. Farm to Kitchen range-free eggs, house made french toast and waffles, homemade granola, fresh squeezed juices and smoothies. They have a large morning menu along with daily specials, here are two that caught my eye.
Pear French Toast: cinnamon sugar brioche french toast topped with warm vanilla-scented poached pears, sugared pecans and maple syrup
Broken Yolk Sandwich with Salmon: two fried eggs and premium, naturally smoked salmon on your choice of buttered toast.
p.s.: Homemade Sour Dough Cinnamon Toast, should not be missed, and an airport location is now open. What kind of goof gets excited about going to the airport for breakfast, ME!
