Great find in Lafayette, LA. Homegrown chef Justin Girouard, a two time James Beard nominee, honors Cajun cooking, all the while making it uniquely his own. Beginning his culinary career as a dish washer at Stella! in New Orleans, working his way up to sous chef, and finally returning to his home town of Lafayette to open a local foods-focused, classic Louisiana fare with an upscale twist restaurant. SAVEUR Magazine’s Top 100 Inspiring Places and Things to Eat, Urban Spoon’s Top Breakfast Restaurants in the country, and Southern Living’s 100 Best Restaurants in the South. Did lunch and dinner but the breakfast menu looked incredible, will defiantly be back. Side notes to know, dinner service is only on Friday and Saturday and unless you get in early breakfast on weekends is a long wait.
p.s.: Boudin is made in house and they go thru about 100lbs a week, insanely good. The Sweet Baby Breesus (3 Buttermilk Biscuit Sliders with Bacon, Fried Boudin Balls and Steen’s Cane Syrup) should not be missed.
