Ruth’s Chris / Baton Rouge, LA

Try to stay away from chain restaurants but making an exception. When Ms. Ruth sold the steak house to an equity firm in 1999 it seemed to lose some of its luster. I have been to many of the locations and they are very good but none of them ever stood up to the Baton Rouge location. A big reason why this one is still so good is, it is still independently owned and not subject to corporate menu approval. Can’t go wrong with a 1800 degree seared filet, served on a 500 degree plate and friends for dinner. This location is a good one. Closed Sunday.
